My father was originally from the Congo, where most of the food has a signature sauce. I would say I became seriously interested in and focused on food around the age of 12. I made a sauce for some fish. Then I started selling zucchini bread slices, which led to selling zucchini bread loaves, and now I'm a chef!
I've had a love for good food and trying different foods since I was a little kid. My father's food was great, and I watched and helped my mom in the kitchen. My mom taught me some things, I taught myself some other things, then took classes and did summer programs, including a summer in France, all related to culinary arts. I enjoy cooking and cooking for others. I love to see people's reactions when they eat my food. It's been joyful to watch, especially because I'm still putting myself out there.
